IFOMPTって何？
オタゴ大学はWHO傘下のIFOMPT認定コースを開設していることは前回の投稿でお知らせしました。が、IFOMPTって何？言い難い…。と思われた方もおられるのではないでしょうか。復習も兼ねて、実際に公式ホームページを開いて訳してみました。

About IFOMPT
IFOMPTとは？

The International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT) represents groups of Manipulative Physical Therapists around the world who have completed stringent post-registration/post-graduation specialisation programs in the field of neuro-musculoskeletal disorders.

整形外科的徒手療法国際連盟（IFOMPT）は登録後/卒後の神経筋骨格障害の分野における厳格な専門プログラムを修了した徒手的理学療法のグループを代表しています。

It is a Federation that sets educational and clinical standards in this area of physical therapy.  IFOMPT actively encourages improved patient management by its Standards Document and by acitvely endorsing evidence based practice.  IFOMPT is a subgroup of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy, and was formed in 1974.

IFOMPTは理学療法の領域で教育的、臨床的基準を設定している連盟です。IFOMPTはその基準となる公的文書と医学的根拠に基づいた臨床を支持することによってより優れた患者のマネージメントを能動的に推奨しています。IFOMPTは世界理学療法士連盟WCPTの下部組織で、1974年に設立されました。

整形外科的徒手療法 (OMPT) の定義

Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy / physical therapy for the management of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions, based on clinical reasoning, using highly specific treatment approaches including manual techniques and therapeutic exercises.

整形外科的徒手理学療法は、臨床的推論と徒手テクニックや運動療法を含む高度に特異的な治療アプローチを基準とした、神経筋骨格系のコンディションの管理を目的とした理学療法の専門領域です。

Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy also encompasses, and is driven by, the available scientific and clinical evidence and the biopsychosocial framework of each individual patient.

整形外科的徒手理学療法は、個別の患者の利用可能な科学的な臨床的根拠と生物・心理・社会的な枠組みを含有し、またその影響を受けます。

とこのように厳格な基準にのっとって団体が管理運営されていますので、参加している大学及び学部、管理責任者には相当な責任が求められるものと思われます。そのためそのコースの修了者は必然的に認知度が高くクオリティの高い理学療法を実践する能力を獲得できるものと言えるかと思います。

ではそのIFOMPTの認定コース、現在はどの国で参加することができるのでしょうか。ホームページによると、

オーストラリア、オーストリア、ベルギー、カナダ、デンマーク、フィンランド、ドイツ、ギリシャ、香港、アイルランド、イタリア、オランダ、ニュージーランド、ノルウェイ、ポルトガル、南アフリカ共和国、スペイン、スウェーデン、スイス、イギリス、アメリカ


以上の国々が設けています。
留学するための下準備としてリサーリした段階では、意外と多いのかなと初めは思いました。しかし、アジアでは香港の香港工科大学しか選択肢がありません。日本語で受講できるコースは皆無。この時点で私にとって留学が現実味を帯びてきました。続く
